“I don’t know if I can answer that [question]. I feel like there’s just a lot of information that we don’t know. This is an unprecedented event that we haven’t seen anything similar to for, like, eighty years. I think I’m in the camp with a lot of people where we are all in stunned disbelief. We don’t know a lot of negotiations and conversations that were happening behind closed doors, so I don’t think it’s probably very simple to say whether we should put our troops in or not. I know the international community is responding with sanctions right now, [but] sanctions have their positives and their drawbacks because typically it’s civilians that suffer the most with sanctions,” Social Studies Instructor Diane Schergin.
