Westside Golfer Dylan Magarro is focussed on consistency and growth this season, building confidence as he continues to develop his game on the course.
“I thought I played well because of how the course was playing on Friday and I shot a 77,” Magarro said.
Even with a solid round, Magarro had to battle a difficult setup on the course, including a hole that tested both his patience and focus.
“The toughest hole was 15, par 3. It was a very tough pin and the green was difficult to put on,” Magarro said. “I just had to move on after that.”
Instead of letting mistakes affect his round, Magarro emphasizes staying mentally steady and trusting his natural game.
“A part of my game I was most proud of was staying consistent and not overthinking shots, just going and playing my game,” Magarro said.
That mindset has developed over time, as golf has been part of his life for as long as he can remember.
“I pretty much started playing golf my whole life and have always been around the game.” Magarro said.
Along with experience, Magarro relies on a consistent pre shot routine that helps him stay focused and prepared for every situation on the course.
“I always have a pre shot routine no matter what shot it is because every shot matters,” Magarro said.
As the season continues, Magarro’s goals are centered on improvement while keeping the game enjoyable and pressure free.
“My personal goals for this season are making sure I get better, taking my golf to the next level, and having fun doing it,” Magarro said.
With his calm mindset and commitment to growth, Magarro is looking to make steady progress and contribute to Westside’s success this season.
