The Westside football team continued its strong late-season push with a 52-20 victory over Creighton Prep last Friday. Senior running back TayTay Jenkins led the Warriors’ offense, scoring five touchdowns in the rivalry win.
“It felt good just beating our rivals,” Jenkins said. “Coming off the loss to Central made us play harder and better. I think that was probably the best thing that happened to us. Overall, making them have their first defeat feels really good.”
Jenkins credited preparation and execution for his standout performance.
“We practice kickoff every day,” he said. “I was just in the right place at the right time.”
This week, the Warriors travel to face Papillion-La Vista. The Monarchs enter the game looking to challenge Westside’s physicality and pace.
“We take one game at a time and get better each week,” Jenkins said. “Our physicality, our toughness, our focus – it all has to continue to improve.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Papillion-La Vista.
