Sadie Rogers –
Sadie Rogers will be attending South Dakota State University to continue her swimming career, “ I picked SDSU because of the culture and support I knew I would have up there, I really connected with the teammates and the coaches on my visit there. I left there knowing I couldn’t see myself anywhere else,” Rogers said. Rogers has been a part of Westside swim since she was a freshman and is super excited to move onto the next step. Rogers leaves the Westside swim team behind by sharing her favorite memories, “ I’m really gonna miss the energy we bring to the deck. We go to state every year with the goal to have the most fun, and I think that’s what separates us from other schools, and makes our program so unique. Westsides has such a special place in my heart, and I’m just so grateful for everyone here for making me into the person I am today, ” Rogers said.
Aidan York –
Aidan York will continue his athletic career in swimming at Iowa Western. He has made many memories at westside but it is onto the next level for him. “My favorite thing about Westside was definitely the connection, we clearly had a good time together and everybody had an awesome season. ” York said. Without his parents and coaches he wouldn’t have been able to be where he is today in his swim career. “I want to thank my teammates and coaches for always pushing me at practice to be a better swimmer, and making sure I’m working hard,” York said. “I also want to thank my mom and dad for supporting me through my entire swim career.” The reason for picking Iowa Western was the coaches and teammates. “One thing I really liked about Iowa western was definitely the teammates and the coaches. On my visit I really connected with them,” York said.
Madeline Lamb –
Madeline Lamb will be continuing her academic and volleyball career at the University of Nebraska – Kearney. Madeline will leave a strong Westside volleyball program behind, but will leave her mark. She will miss all of her teammates as she has made so many memories with them, her favorite being winning in state this year. “I’m really going to miss my teammates from Westside. My favorite memory from this year was winning in the quarter finals, and just being at state with them (teammates)” Lamb said. Madeline’s parents have been a big part of her volleyball journey that will be continuing at UNK. “I want to thank my parents and coaches for always pushing me in practice and in school,” Lamb said.
Reagan Siebler –
Reagan Siebler will be attending Edgewood University to continue her volleyball career, “I would just like to thank my parents for helping me find a school that was right for me and my teammates and coaches for making this year so enjoyable,” Siebler said. Siebler has been a part of the Westside volleyball team all four years of high school, and as excited as she is for her new chapter she will also miss Westside volleyball. As she moves onto her next set she reflects on her time with Westside volleyball, “ My favorite memory was definitely winning state first round and having this whole season with these awesome girls was just so fun, ” Sieber said.
Mackenzie Wingett –
Mackenzie Wingett will be attending Lehigh University to continue her volleyball career. “ I’d like to thank my teammates and coaches for pushing me to the level I’m at and for always giving me the best opportunities and just helping me strive to be the best person,” Wingett said. Wingett transferred to Westside two years ago and has been a part of Westside volleyball ever since. She is super excited to move onto a new chapter but will also miss her favorite times with Westside volleyball. “ I’m really gonna miss all the girls and I’m gonna miss all my memories like going to Arizona last year or winning the first round of state this year, ” Wingett said.
Will Preston
Will be attending Hampton University to play basketball next year.
“I chose Hampton because of the family it feels like there and the really nice campuses” Preston Said.
He has been apart of the basketball program for many years making so many memories he will cherish for years to come “The thing I am going to miss about Westside is all of the team dinners with all of the guys” Preston said.
Emre Gedik is also very excited to announce his commitment to Augustana University to also continue his basketball career.
“I just really loved their campus and thought it was just the most similar to home. It was just really pretty especially when we went back up to visit in fall” Gedik said.
Having had many schools to chose from when deciding which college would be the best fit for him. This often being a hard decision for one, was simpler for Gedik.
“I really want to thank my teammates, my coaches and my parents for making this an easier decision then it was” Gedik said.
Neveah Fox –
Neveah Fox will be attending the college of Saint Mary – Nebraska to continue her Cross country and track & field career. She has been competing on both teams at westside since she was a freshman, and now she will continue her career into college. Neveah will miss her westside track and field family, her favorite memory was state this year and creating bonds throughout the season, “My favorite memory was competing at state this past season, and making it as a team,” Fox said. Many people have been a big part of her journey, especially her parents, coaches and friends. “I want to thank my parents, my coaches both past and present and then my friend,” Fox said.
Auzlyn Anderson –
Auzlyn Anderson will be attending North Dakota State University next year to continue her academic as well as her athletic career in track. She is signing to compete as a Horizontal jumper and is super excited to take this next step in her career.
“I chose North Dakota State because of the culture, strong community and my belief in the coaching staff there” Anderson said.
Nora Johnson –
After four great years as a Warrior, Nora Johnson is sticking with red and attending The University Of Nebraska Omaha next year to play soccer. She has made a huge impact on the Westside community and because of that, she will never be forgotten. “Im really gonna miss Mr. Cozad and the unified program and also all my teammates and coaches from here” Johnson said.
Mia Urosevich –
Mia Urosevich will be attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City next year to play soccer! The Warrior has loved her time at Westside competing in Cross Country, basketball and soccer as well as being a huge part of the unified program. Urosivich is very happy with her choice to attend this university. “I chose UMKC because it really felt like family, which is something that is very important to me because I come from Westside where all of my teams feel like family.” Urosevich said.
Madison Kully –
Madison Kully will be attending Simpson College to continue her soccer career, “ I chose Simpson because when I went there the campus felt like home, it was just so beautiful. I felt a real connection with the coaches and I just can’t wait to make great experiences there. ” Kully said. Kully has been a part of Westside all four years of high school and she is so excited but sad to move on, “ My favorite part about Westside is definitely Cozad’s room and unified and everything they have done for me, they have just created a second family for me and im so grateful for everything they have done for me. ” Kully said.
Lola Anzaldo –
Lola Anzaldo will be attending Emporia State to continue her soccer career, “ when I took my visit to Emporia I knew right away that I was gonna go there. I felt a really strong connection with the coach and everything just fell right into place.” Anzaldo said. Anzaldo has been a part of Westside soccer all four years of high school and as excited as she is for her next chapter she reflects on her time at Westside high school. Leaving behind the Westside soccer team will be hard but she leaves very grateful to everyone on her support team, “ I want to thank my family especially my mom for the time, money and effort taken to get me to this point. I also wanna thank my trainer Taylor who made me into the player I am today, this would not be possible without you guys. Thank you and stingers up,” Anzaldo said.
Hannah Miller –
Hannah Miller will be attending Rockhurst University to continue her softball career, “ I chose Rockhurst softball because of the team culture and awesome coaches,” Miller said. Miller has been a huge part of Westside softball, breaking records and so much more, she reflects on her time with Westside softball, “ My favorite memory was going to state this year and winning the first round game since 2009. I will truly miss westside softball as it has given me many friendships that I will miss and lots of lessons that I will take with me to this next chapter, ” Miller said. Miller is super excited for her next chapter but wants to make sure everyone who supported her is recognized, “ First I would like to thank my family for supporting me through every step of my softball journey. I would also like to thank all of my coaches, especially Tj, Mike and Kiley for making me into the player I am today. Lastly I would like to thank my teammates and friends for being my biggest supporters,” Miller said.
Baylee Heffernan –
Baylee Heffernan will be attending Briar Cliff University to continue her softball career, “ I chose Briar Cliff because of the amazing coaching staff and the atmosphere and I chose to further my academic career because of their strong radiology program,”Heffernan said. Heffernan has been a part of Westside softball for all four years of high school, she is super excited for her next step but also sad to be leaving Westside softball behind, “ A huge thank you to Westside for an unforgettable experience.Thank you Westside for the endless support, I can’t wait to see what the future holds,” Heffernan said. Heffernan walked away from Westside softball leaving a huge impact and taking lots of memories, “ My favorite Westside softball memory is going to state twice over the 4 years and winning a first round game,”” Heffernan said.
Manuela Katé –
Being on Westside softball Manuela has made many memories. “The moment I will miss the most at Westside was the fill the fill moment when we hosted districts our sophomore and senior year, all the students from westbrook elementary school came out of the hill,” Katé said. Moving to the next level in college she will take all of the memories with her. Her coaches have been a big part of her journey. “Thank you TJ, Mike, Kim and all my other coaches that I’ve had during my Westside career,” Katé said. She will be attending Briar Cliff university next fall to play softball, BCU felt like home to Manuela and that is why she picked it. “I will be playing softball at BCU, I picked it (BCU) because of their amazing nursing program, and my amazing relationships with the coaches.” Katé said. Manuela’s Mom and Sister have also been a big part of her softball journey, “I would love to personally thank my sister for being my forever best friend” Katé said “I love to thank my mom for all the mcdonalds, and all travels and fun”.
Hadley Hansen –
Hadley Hansen will be attending Wartburg College, in Waverly Iowa, next fall to continue her softball career. She chose Wartburg because of their pre-med programs, and to continue her family legacy at Wartburg. “I picked Wartburg for its excellent pre-medicine programs and its strong sense of community and belonging” Hansen said. “The opportunity it has given me to play at the next level, and to continue a hansen family tradition.” She has made many memories at Westside, and will miss everyone very much. “I’m going to miss my Westside softball family alot. We shared every high and low together, and all of them will hold a special place in my heart,” Hansen said. Without her parents, and various coaches Hadley wouldn’t have been able to play at the next level. They supported her throughout the entire recruiting process, and coached her to the level she is today “I want to thank my coaches Mike Leapley, Tj Eadus, for making me into the player I am today. I also want to thank my parents and teammates for all the support and encouragement leading up to today (signing day),” Hansen said.
Emma Kauffman –
Emma Kauffman will be attending RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) to continue her softball career. Kauffman has played softball all 4 years of high school but she is excited for the next chapter. She chose RPI not only because of softball but also for the academic side of things. “I chose RPI because of the strong engineering program,” Kaufman said. Emma’s family is her biggest support system; she thanks them for all they have done for her. “I would like to thank my parents and siblings for all their support during the recruiting process and all the time they have spent with me at the field,” Kauffman said. She will leave behind Westside Softball and move to the next chapter, but she made many great memories. “I’ve made so many memories with my westside softball teammates, and I’m going to miss practicing with them everyday, all the game days. They have made this experience really special for me,” Kauffman said.
Braeden Hosey –
Next year Braeden Hosey will be attending Lindenwood University to play baseball. The senior has valued his time being a Westside Warrior and has valued the people at the school the most. “I am going to miss my friends, my teammates and all of those I have met along this journey but ill continue to bring the positive things I have learned from them to the next level” Hosey Said.
Teigan Mechels –
Teagen Mechels will be attending the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to continue her athletic career in lacrosse. Transferring to Westside a little bit through her high school career she is very thankful for all of the support she has gotten from everyone at Westside. “During the recruitment process UCCS was the last campus I visited and once I stepped foot on campus I knew thats where I was meant to be” Michels said.
