The Westside football team continued its dominant start to the season with a 51-0 homecoming victory over Millard West last Friday. Senior running back and linebacker Monte Costello, who was crowned homecoming king, said the win helped build momentum.
“It just changes the whole game, how we’re feeling, our confidence,” Costello said. “Being able to make plays like those will just drive us to win.”
Westside will travel to Bellevue West on Friday. The Thunderbirds enter the matchup with a 1-2 record, and Costello said the Warriors are preparing for a competitive game.
“We’ve had a good few days of practice and we know it’s a test,” Costello said. “But we’re ready for them, and let’s hope it’s a good game.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The student section theme is Y2K.
