On Thursday, September 13, 2018, the Westside girls golf team traveled to a tournament o in Norfolk. Norfolk Country Club, the home of the NSAA State Golf Championship is considered to be one of the toughest courses on Westside’s schedule and the best field in Nebraska high school golf, this is always a competitive tournament.

So far this year, Westside’s most consistent golfer has been freshman Kaitlyn Hanna, either shooting in the 70s andmid 80s all year, she has already beat the school record by 5 shots a 71, then beat her record the next meet shooting a 70.

One of the things coach Barry Glanzer said he had been looking forward to going into this meet was Hanna stepping up and going against a Freshman from Lincoln Southeast, Kate Strickland, who right now is considered to be one of the best golfers in state.

In the end Westside finished in 10th place overall shooting a 393 as a team with Hanna shooting an 84, Freshman Claire Bonnett shooting a 103, senior Lili Fogland shooting a 96 and Portia Lenczowski shooting a 110. As for the solo finishers Hanna finished 8th overall.
