Senior Spotlight: Westside Boys Basketball Reflects on Time with Program
#20 Payson Gillespie
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a part of Westside basketball?
A: These last couple years, I would say the locker room with the guys after a game or before a game, jamming out and stuff like that.
Q: What is the biggest thing Westside basketball has taught you?
A: I grew up a lot here. I became a lot more mature, my mental game has changed a lot. The coaches have helped me become a lot more stable with my emotions so I’m not wearing them on my sleeve anymore.
Q: What is your favorite basketball memory?
A: One day in practice sophomore year, Tyler Doval drove to the baseline and tried passing to Trav and it went way over his head. Trav just watched the ball fly over his head, and Doval goes, ‘Trav, I thought you were going to jump,’ and everyone just started laughing.
