The Westside Advisory Committee will be hosting a Family Fun Night at the Hawkins Family Westside Boys and Girls Club on Sunday, March 1. The club is connected to Westbrook Elementary and will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The committee invites kids interested in the program to bring their family and experience all that the boys and girls club has to offer. Vice President of Leadership Giving Elizabeth Donner said it will be a fun event that she encourages everyone to attend.

“We are opening up the boys and girls club to anyone who just wants to come in and experience what our club members experience everyday,” Donner said.

Donner said the night will involve fun activities and different stations to visit.

“We are going to have stations set up,” Donner said. “We will have an Innovation center focused on STEM programming, culinary activities, fine art projects, and games like Nintendo Switch, foosball and others.”

Donner said the Family Fun Night will help emphasize what the club is all about.

“We want people to see that it’s not just a place for kids to hangout after school,” Donner said. “But that there’s a lot of activities that can take place.”

Westbrook Elementary Principal Tyler Hottovy said the Family Fun Night is a great event to expose families to the club.

“It’s another opportunity to engage families and engage the community in the district,” Hottovy said.

Hottovy said the event will help positively impact the school.

“Anytime we can get parents and students excited about school in a positive way is amazing,” Hottovy said.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Elizabeth Donner at [email protected] by Wednesday, Feb. 26.
