To kick off the homecoming week festivities, Powderbuff started it off with a bang.

The two senior teams, the Stanky Boyz and the Toon Squad, were fired up and brought plenty of taunting and competitiveness to heat up the game. Ultimately, the Stanky Boyz didn’t have enough stank in the tank, giving the Toon Squad the first game in two sets.

On the junior side, the competition was stiff between the three teams. The night started off with the Bees playing the Plain White Thighs. The game was close, but the Bees ended up winning in two sets. In the junior finale, it was the Canes vs. the Bees. In the battle of underclassmen, there were plenty of great plays, but ultimately the Canes won in three sets.

In the final matchup, the Toon Squad faced the Canes. The first set was back and forth, with neither team giving way until the end. It was 24-23 Toon squad, but even after a good effort by the Canes, the Toon Squad got the 25th point to win the first set. From there, it was all Toons. The team came out firing and took the set 25-16, winning Powderbuff and starting the hopeful “senior sweep”.
