Prom is right around the corner and the normal thing for a guy to do is ask a girl from his school to the dance. When this doesn’t happen, though, it is usually because he asks a girl from a different school in the area. One California senior, Jake Davidson, asked someone that was not even close to being in another high school. He asked model Kate Upton to his prom and since he can’t just walk up to her and ask her to prom with a cute little sign without getting tackled by bodyguards, he proposed in a YouTube video.

Multiple celebrities have gone to events with normal, everyday people before. Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake attended a Marine Corps Ball with two military personnel. Taylor Swift did not attend the prom she was invited to last year but instead invited the guy to an event with her later on, which I guess is acceptable.

The video that was recently released asking Upton to a prom deserves at least a response. It was obviously thought out and scripted with some humor thrown in without going over the top. The quirkiness of his proposal definitely caught my attention and apparently Kate Upton’s! She tweeted Davidson and said she’d “check her schedule”. There is hope after all!
