Is Mississippi guard Marshall Henderson worth the time of succesful coach Andy Kennedy? I thought so. Henderson comes with quite a few indiscretions. His freshman year at Utah he was suspended for one game and then transferred to Texas Tech because Utah didn’t support his “individualism.” Ole Miss is his fourth college in four years and Henderson must really like it. On Saturday when the Rebels upset the Florida Gators in the SEC championship Henderson did a “gator chomp” toward the Florida student section. Henderson has had many other incidents like this occur, and many would think his coach would be all over it. Head Rebels coach Andy Kennedy wasn’t exactly a wallflower when he played basketball for Alabama-Birmingham and North Carolina State. Henderson managed to dent the basketball court after a loss to South Carolina earlier this season. Many will take this good with the bad considering Henderson averages about 20 points per game and is known for his long three pointers. I certainly would. I have high hopes for Ole Miss in the NCAA tournament and hope they go far. If this means they let Marshall mouth off to a few players on the opposing team, I think this is a small price to pay for a bid in the NCAA tournament, Ole Miss’s first since 2002.
