On Mar. 8, Icky Blossoms, a local dance fusion band, is playing at the Slowdown. The band plays in Omaha frequently and was on the Maha Music Festival lineup last summer. Their electronic sound and light show will surely get you off your feet and get you dancing like you’ve never danced before. The band just recently released their first full-length self-titled album. Tickets are $7.
On Mar. 24, Delicate Steve will put on an instrumental show at the Slowdown that any alternative rock fan would enjoy. The two lead guitar players jump around and occasionally add vocals to their smooth and intricate vibes. Make sure to check out their sophomore album, Positive Force. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
On Apr. 4, Cold War Kids will return to the Slowdown two days after their newest album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, is expected to be released. This highly anticipated third LP will surely contain just as much rock-infused music that has caught the band so many fans. If you want to be one of the first to hear this album live, be there promptly at 9 p.m. to get a good spot. Tickets are $18.
On Apr. 19, Slightly Stoopid will play at Sokol Auditorium after just recently releasing their 7th album, Top of the World. The reggae band will be joined by Tribal Seeds and all the hippies/Bob Marley fans of Omaha. This will surely be a fun and enjoyable show that no music-lover should miss. Tickets are $22.50 in advance, $25 at the door.
On Apr. 23, Polica will perform at the Waiting Room joined by Night Moves. Polica’s girl vocalist, Channy Casselle, has a slow but intoxicating voice mixed with two drummers and guitars, leading to their own funky take on rock music. Their album, Give You the Ghost, is highly praised but sounds even better live. They joined Foster the People’s last tour as their opening band. Tickets are $14.
