The prestigious Golden Raspberries, or better known as the Razzies, took place the night before the Academy Awards. Since 1981, the Razzies have been honoring the worst in film that year and this year they were spot on, as usual. Not surprisingly, the worst film of the year was awarded to none other than the ever-s0-popular “Twilight-Breaking Dawn Part 2.” The film took home six more Razzies, including the Razzie for worst actress for Kristin Stewart, and worst supporting actor for Taylor Lautner.
No matter how many Razzies the film ‘wins,’ there is no denying that it was a huge box office success making over $828 million world wide. Proving that no matter how terrible the film is, and it was pretty bad, there will still be hundreds of adolescent teenage girls that are willing to spend their parents’ $8 to see anything that has attractive vampires in it. So why not celebrate the fact that they made $828 million, and show up to accept the award?
Sandra Bullock accepted her Razzie in 2009 for worst actress in the film “All About Steve” and the next night won an Oscar for best actress in her film “The Blindside”
Maybe if the cast of Twilight would have shown up to accept their award at the Razzies their luck would have changed at the Academy Awards. However, that might be tough seeing as though one needs to be nominated at the Academy Awards in order to win. Oh well, get em’ next year Twilight.
