Over this past week Westside High School has been given the honor of hosting a remembrance exhibit in the main entrance.
The exhibit honors the Nebraskan soldiers who have died in the Iraq and Afghanistan War. Social Studies department head Bob Brousek was approached last spring by the people who made the exhibit about hosting it.
“It was good for our community and our students to be given the opportunity to witness this exhibit and reflect on the sacrafices that our military make for us citizens” said Brousek.
To open up the exhibit, Westside held a memorial for the soldiers on November 26th. Representative Lee Terry was the keynote speaker for the opening. This exhibit was held open for a week.
