Netflix

Founded in 1997, Netflix has grown to accompany and provide for its large audience. With 29.2 million subscribers, a small amount of those customers can be found in the halls of Westside.

In a detailed letter put out in late April of 2013, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings addressed the future of Netflix to his subscribers “We are commercial-free unlimited-viewing subscription TV. We don’t have pay-per-view and we don’t have advertisements… We choose to be the best at our model, and to have our brand stand for commercial-free, unlimited viewing, low flat monthly fee.” That is what makes Netflix so great, and is the reason so many, including Westsiders, are avid Netflix viewers.

According to Hastings, the company has improved on being able to estimate how much time viewers will watch a certain show to avoid overpaying for shows that are not being watched. But what are people watching at Westside?

Westside Wired asked a random thirty people in the halls which shows they watch the most on Netflix. The two shows that both boys and girls were watching the most were Breaking Bad, followed by Gossip Girl. Other notable results were the Walking Dead, The Carrie Diaries, One Tree Hill and 90210.
