The Westside hockey club took on the Creighton Prep Junior Jays in the elimination bracket of the 2018 Omaha High School Hockey League playoffs. Behind Michael Hickey’s first period goal, the Warriors stopped Creighton Prep via a 1-0 score. Creighton Prep led the shots on goal battle, 15-8, but goalie Avery Drew put a stop to their attack.
“We didn’t have Henry [Zipay], our second leading scorer, so I knew I had to step up,” Hickey said.
Westside advances to play Millard West on Saturday, March 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Moylan (Tranquility) Iceplex.
