Seniors Logan Duryee and Mitchell Hagan discuss the previous play. The football team played Lincoln Northeast on Friday Sep. 18 and won 27-10

This past weekend was another filled with Westside activities. Luckily, the Warriors were once again successful in their various sports fields.

Last Thursday, Sept. 17, both boys and girls cross-country teams traveled to Lincoln. The girls finished seventh overall, led by Phoebe Placzek who placed in the top fifteen. On the other side, the boys ran their way to a second place finish. Junior Milo Greder and senior Abdi Abdinasir finished in the top ten. Milo finishing third and Abdi fifth.

That same day the volleyball team played in Gretna, though their travels didn’t yield as much success. Despite three close games, the team was swept by the dragons 3-0.

The football team kept their hot streak going on Friday as they took on Lincoln Northeast at Seacrest Field in Lincoln. Though the team didn’t have their typical student section to make the trek, they improved their record to 3-1, as they beat the Rockets 27-10.

Finally, despite being scheduled to play in the metro tournament this past weekend, the girls softball team did not play any games due to weather.
