Chemistry Field Day:
This past Saturday, Westside chemistry students traveled to the University of Creighton to participate in the annual Chemistry Field Day. The students take part in a series of events in which they can demonstrate their chemistry knowledge and win prizes. The team of juniors Erin North, Paul O’Dell and Sarah Sternberger took first place in the Primary Division and the team of Christa Pierce, Xuewei Zhao, Michaela Mapes, Terry Edwards, Liam O’Ridoran placed second in the Advanced Devision.

Girls Soccer:
The girls soccer team played at home Saturday vs Bellevue East. The Warriors won 2-0 with goals scored by Kellen Dobry and Michelle Xiao. The girls hope to continue their undefeated season of 5-0 tonight, April 7, when they play the Paillion La-Vista South Titans.

Baseball:
The Varsity boys baseball team played a variety of teams this weekend. On Friday they played Bellevue East and took home a 16-0 win. On Saturday the Warriors started their day with with a home game against Millard North. They pulled out a 4-3 win over the Mustangs with a home run by Will Patterson to seal the deal. For a full recap of this game click here. Later in the day the boys took on the Papillion La-Vista South Titans and finished their weekend 3-0 with a 2-0 win. Boys Soccer:
Boys soccer played Friday night vs Bellevue West. They finished the game with a 5-0 win with a hat trick by Chase McCann. Daniel Shonka and John Dahir each put one in the net to bring the score to five. The Warriors are now 4-1 and will next tomorrow night, April 8, against Millard West.

Debate:
Juniors Lia Hagen and Peyton Wells participated in the Great Midwestern Novice and JV Debate Championships, held at Iowa City West high school in Iowa City. The girls went 1-5 in the preliminary rounds, and thus placed 25th out of 28 teams. Despite their tough weekend, Hagen was the top speaker out of 55 debaters, and Wells was third speaker.
