Deadlines in Life

When is it appropriate to set a time limit on something in your life? Is there even such a thing? Graduating high school seems to have a time limit on it. Definitely in school we see that things are due and if you don’t get them done you have a consequence. But the question is, does that carry over into life outside of school and work? Personal dead lines are one thing. Saying I want to save up x amount of money by this time is an example of that. But on the other side of things is there a shelf life for following your dreams, finding your dream job, and genuinely doing something you love?

Every day people set things aside for themselves in order to “do what’s best.” Not pursuing what you love because you are too busy with school work is just one selfless act. Sometimes in life people need to be selfish. Do what’s best for you and not what others think is best for you. There are no deadlines in life. Not if you don’t want there to be. You have an entire lifetime to follow through with your hopes and dreams. People put their life on the back-burner for other people all the time.

One thing you will not regret is if you end up doing the things you love. Don’t go to a college you hate, don’t get a job you know you won’t end up loving, don’t stay in one spot because you are told. Put yourself first every once in a while, there is no deadline in life.
