While still having starters gone from injuries at Metros for Westside, things were looking tough going into the Bennington duals Thursday Jan. 23, and the Ralston duals Wednesday, Jan. 29.

On Thursday, Westside went into the meet with half its starters gone, and facing a senior led Bennington. Without these starters, Westside had only three pins, coming from senior Ismail Hamze in weight class 182, senior Dylan Sorrell in weight class 120 and sophomore Jacob Kent in weight class 220. These were the team’s only points in a 62-18 loss to Bennington.

Wednesday at Ralston, the Warriors were able to bounce back with a 52-18 win. The winners were sophomore Drew Sorrell in weight class 106, senior Dylan Sorrell in weight class 120, junior Casey Schroeder in weight class 126, junior Jacob Schweigert in weight class 152, senior Ben Huss in weight class 160, senior Brady Novak in weight class 170, senior Ismail Hamze in weight class 182 and sophomore Jacob Kent in weight class 220.

Westside has Senior Night Friday at 7:00 at Westside for its next meet.
