The 2024 movie Saturday Night is an intense and chaotic film. This movie is about the first night of the hit show Saturday Night Live. The time before the show goes live is very crazy and as the night progresses, almost everything seems to go wrong.
From the beginning, the film jumps into a whirlwind of events. It feels like you’re watching a disaster in real-time. Lights fall down, actors quit, the set is not fully built, and they must narrow down the show to 90 minutes. These disasters jumped out of nowhere. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, wondering what would happen next.
The cast of Saturday Night did a great job of portraying the unique mannerisms of their characters. Gabriel Labelle as Lorne Micheals and Cory Micheal Smith as Chevy Chase really stood out in the film. They really captured their characters and the way they reacted to these crazy situations feels both genuine and comedic. I couldn’t help but root for them.
The movie’s ending was a highlight. It was so satisfying to see everything fall into place after all the stress that the audience witnesses. Despite all the chaos, Saturday Night left me with a sense of relief. The humor is well timed and wraps up the show on just the right note.
Overall, I would give Saturday Night 4 stars because it draws its audience in and it is very engaging, well acted, and very funny.
