Westside’s varsity football team is looking to keep their 15-game winning streak alive, as they take on the Papillion-La Vista South Titans at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Papillion-La Vista South Titans are hungry for a win, coming off a 28-21 loss against the Gretna Dragons. The Warriors, on the other hand, are trying to recoup after escaping Papio 31-28 in week three.

Senior quarterback Kolby Brown expressed that there are some similarities to the Titans and the Monarchs, like their physicality. He believes the Titans will be a good challenge, just as the Monarchs were last week.

“I think they are both really good challenges, they are both physical,” Brown said. “Papio is a little bigger up front but South is just as physical so I think it will be good for us. We needed a close game to show we can play tight games. It’s not always going to be a blowout, you always have to close out those close ones.”

Last week the Monarchs started with a 75-yard touchdown pass, which set the tone early for the game. The Warriors hope to avoid a repeat of that beginning when they host the Papillion-La Vista South Titans tonight at 7 p.m at Phelps Field. The game will be streamed live on westsidewired.net.
