Westside vs Omaha Bryan | Omaha Metro Conference Tournament Round Two
The Westside boys basketball team looks to carry momentum from their loss against Lincoln Southeast, going into the Holiday Tournament. The Warriors will face off Bryan to start the tournament, Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. Starting junior Chandler Meeks says this about the tournament.
“With one day of practice before our first game of the tournament we worked on our opponents’ style of play and what we need to do to clean up in our offense and defense, ” Meeks said.
The Warriors have lots to clean up after a tough loss to Southeast. But the Warriors stick to their ways on the court in order for them to come out on top in this tournament. Meeks believes the team has what it takes.
“We need to play our team basketball, and live up to our expectations to win,” Meeks said.
Meeks and the Warriors hope to use their hunger from the loss to power their drive to make a run in the tournament. Westside wants to overcome their mistakes and use what they learned from the loss this past weekend against Bryan on Tuesday.
“We will use it as motivation, knowing we didn’t play our best gives us more hunger to show how we can actually play as a team,” Meeks said.
Starting junior Dominic Rezac is ready to bounce back with a win on Tuesday.
“We worked on what Bryan will do against us and also worked on ourselves offensively and defensively to help prepare us for the tournament,” Rezac said.
