Wired’s September Playlist
My goal for this playlist was to compile a list of groove-heavy songs. Songs with a solid groove remind me of back to school time and getting back into the swing of fall. That means you can expect a strong bass and drum pattern making up the backbone of the track paired with a catchy hook or guitar riff on top. Look for tastes of modern and classic rock from Spoon and Steely Dan, as well as a good mix of light and dark textures on “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk and “Bad Bad News” by Leon Bridges respectively. I also thought it would be appropriate to add in some timely political commentary on John Mayer’s “Waiting On the World to Change.” And to loosen things up, Thundercat teams up with yacht rock legends, Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald on “Show You The Way.” So go grab a pair of headphones, sit back, and enjoy Westside Wired’s September Playlist.
