BREAKING: State Tournament to Be Held Without Spectators
The Nebraska School Activities Association, under the advisement of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, announced Wednesday morning that the 2020 NSAA Boys Basketball Championships will be held to limited spectators due to concerns with the ongoing Coronavirus. Senior Carl Brown said that this will up the team’s focus.
“I feel like it makes our focus level go up,” Brown said. “I think it affects us because we feed off of our student section’s energy a lot.”
Although the general public will not be allowed into the tournament, it is on as scheduled as of noon on Wednesday. The Warriors are slated to open the tournament with arch rival Omaha Creighton Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Brown said they still have to focus on the basketball.
“If we play defensively like we did last game, it will go in our favor,” Brown said.
Head Coach Jim Simons has declined comment until he learns more later on.
