Season Recap: Girls Golf Finishes with Goals Met
The girls golf team finished their season with great stats and beautiful smiles. Sophomore Kaitlyn Hanna is now the Class A Girls Golf state champion for the second year in a row. The team itself finished 6th, and they played through the bad conditions at state this year.
“I loved practices with all the girls. There isn’t much of us, but we all bond really well and have fun together,” Sophomore Ellie Anglim said. “Coaches also teach us a lot and have fun at the same time.”
While the team had amazing scoring and developments throughout the season, the girls looked forward to being with each other every practice and bonding as a team. Junior Madalyn DiPrima explained her love for her team and the strong connection they all share.
“When we would get to practice, the whole team would talk to each other like family,” DiPrima said. “The team always knew how to have a fun time but get serious when we needed too.”
The development of the teams was important in achieving goals, but the relationships between the teammates were a huge factor in their success this year.
“We were pretty consistent all year and it was fun to see so many good shots and improvement,” Glanzer said.
Coach Barry Glanzer reflected on the season with positive thoughts and wonderful improvements. He says the girls had a great season and all their goals were met, making it to state and Kaitlyn winning again.
“I think if the girls work hard on the short game this summer and play in tournaments we can be one of the top teams in State next year,” Glanzer said.
The girls golf team ended their season in 6th place at state and Hanna was titled as a two time state champion. The girls look forward to their season next year and hope to continue their success.
