Girls Golf Qualifies for State
The golf season is coming to an end but not before the girls take their best shot at state. The girls finished districts as runner ups with three place holders. Junior Portia Lenczowsk finished 6th shooting a 91. Sophomore Claire Bonnett finished 8th with a 92 and sophomore Kaitlyn Hanna ended as runner up with 72.
Barry Glanzer, the girls’ varsity coach is proud of his team and the success they’ve had. He wants to seem them gain consistency and shot even lower for them to end in the top six at state.
“We’re happy with how [the girls] have scored better this year and continue to get better,” Glanzer said.
Lencowoski said that every round she plays isn’t just for personal gain, it a part of a bigger goal overall.
“I try to remind myself that I’m not just for myself, I’m playing for my team and everything I do affects them too,” Lenczowski said.
She also said that she is thankful for the girls on the team and wants to get better not only for herself but also so they can do well at state. Glanzer agrees with her.
“I want to see the girls improve on their game and scoring,” Glanzer said.
Glanzer hopes that the girls place high at state. He is interested in seeing the matchups at state and everyone’s end result. Look for the Girls Golf Team at state at Norfolk Country Club on October 14th and 15th.
