PREVIEW: Girls Golf Hoping to Continue Previous Success
The girls golf team is preparing for their upcoming season with full force. While there are no freshmen on the team, there are new players, and Head Coach Barry Glanzer said he is hopeful for another great season.
“I’d like to see them compete and make it to the state tournament,” Glanzer said. We’ve also got a lot of youngsters and have a young team this year.”
Glanzer said he is looking forward to the season and seeing the girls improve every day. He is confident in his team and expects the best from each and every one.
“We’ve got a really good group of girls,” Glanzer said. They’re all super nice and sweet, working hard and doing one of the hardest sports there is.”
Glanzer said he wants everyone to know about the girls on the team and their commitment to the sport. The girls are all very supportive of each other and super pumped for the season. Second-year varsity player Kaitlyn Hanna, who tied for the individual state championship in 2018, is looking forward to building on another successful season.
“Our team goal is just to always improve, learn the game and make it to state,” Hanna said. “I’m looking forward to the start of the season and making memories with these girls.”
Hanna is very focused on the success for her as well as the whole team. She said the team is hopeful for many wins in the future.
Girls golf starts their season with a tournament in Lincoln at Holmes on August 22nd.
