Sports Winter Break in Review
Girls Basketball
The Varsity girls basketball team spent their break on the court in Bellevue, at Ralston Arena and they finished it up at home. The girls went 5-1 over break with wins over Bellevue West, Omaha Central, Omaha Benson and Millard West. They improved to 9-3 on the season, and they currently sit in sixth in wild card points and will return on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, when they host Omaha Marian.
Boys Basketball
The varsity boys basketball team went 1-3 over break with a win over Bellevue East. Despite losses to Bellevue West, Omaha Burke and Omaha Central, the Warriors are 6-4 and sit in twelfth place in wild card points. They will return on Friday, January 11, 2018, when they host Omaha Burke at 7:15 p.m.
Wrestling
The varsity wrestling team traveled to Fremont, Creighton Prep and Millard West over this year’s break.
They began their winter break at Archbishop Bergan’s Invite in Fremont. Medalists included Michael Colling (silver), Nolan “deuce’ Miller-Johnston won in 160 pounds and Matt Onken (bronze). They then competed at Omaha Creighton Prep where Nolan “Deuce” Miller-Johnston (silver), Cade Haberman (silver) and Matt Onken (bronze) all finished with a medal. To round out the break, the Warriors Competed at the Millard West Invite. Sophomore Cade Haberman won the bracket in 280 pounds and Nolan “Deuce” Miller-Johnston placed second in 160 pounds.
Swim and Dive
The Swim and Dive team did not compete, but they will return on Monday, January 7, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. when they compete with Omaha Central at Norris Middle School.
