PREVIEW: Westside preparing for a tough homecoming game against Elkhorn South
Tonight, the Warrior football team will face off against the Elkhorn South Storm. Westside is 6-0 and have won five of their six victories by 30 or more points. The Storm have a winning 4-2 record but are coming off a loss to the Patriots of Millard South. Senior Nick Connelly seems to think this will be a very big game.
“This week’s game against Elkhorn South is pretty big, winning this game could get us a home game in playoffs and we would be 3-0 in districts and 7-0 for the regular season,” Connelly said.
Not only is the competition strong it is also the homecoming game. Sophomore Avante Dickerson elaborates on what that means to him and his team.
“The game is gonna be really fun for us especially because it is our homecoming game. Hopefully we can pull out the win and be 7-0,” Dickerson said.
Come out to Phelps Field at 5PM to see the Warriors compete.
