Senior Runner Shining as Cross Country Season Runs on
Senior Ethan Goldner is one of the top runners in the state for cross country. Consistently finishing top five in nearly every race this year, Goldner finished first in the opening race this season, but has failed to reach that mark since. Heading into the last four races of his senior season, Goldner has no worries.
“There isn’t any pressure to finish first in any race that I run because I can’t control the other pool of racers, only how I run,” Goldner said.
Consistently finishing in the top five has Goldner comfortable with his placements as he anticipates his times to lower as the season approaches the end.
“During the season the times always improve and I have gotten two times around 16:30, so as the season progresses they will get faster, especially when I taper before state,” Goldner said.
Goldner and the Warriors will be running in the Metro Conference meet this Thursday before competing in the district race.
