Preview: Warriors Zoned in on Second Test Despite Monarchs’ Struggles

The Warrior football team will look to continue their early success against the Papillion-La-Vista Monarchs in the second game of the season on Friday, August 31st. Kickoff time will be 7 p.m. and the game will be held at Papillion-La Vista South’s Foundations field.

The Monarchs started the season with a loss to their cross-town rival Papillion-La Vista South and are not rated in the top ten. They gave up 400 total yards on 67 plays for an average of 6 per play. Despite their struggles in week one, senior Dan Vermillion is taking the competition seriously.

“We’re going to practice this week and practice hard to prepare for Papio,” Vermillion said. “They have a pretty good offense and a really good quarterback.”

Although the Warriors are taking Papillion La-Vista seriously, they still have confidence that they can get the win. Senior Loren Woita believes they will have success due to the hard work his team has been putting in every day at practice.

“I feel confident with the team and the work we’ve put in the past few days and I feel like we will win on Friday,” Woita said.
