Westside’s varsity swimming and diving team competed against Omaha Marian and Creighton Prep on Tuesday. To start the meet, Prep won the 200 medley relay. The Warriors responded and won the next three events to set the tone for the rest of the meet.
Senior Creighton Prep transfer Jon Gouger led the way by winning both of his individual events, the 200 individual medley and 100 yard backstroke.
“I’m proud of my boys,” Gouger said. “It was a fantastic victory, but work still needs to be done for us to win state.”
The Westside girls swim and dive team ultimately fell short at the end of the meet, with Omaha Marian taking the win on the girls’ side. Varsity swim and dive will compete against Millard North next Tuesday Dec. 12, at Westside.
