Westside hosted the Omaha Northwest Huskies Friday night in their annual homecoming celebration. Led by the defense, the Warriors outlasted their opponent by a score of 49-0. Senior quarterback Dylan Plautz threw for 258 yards on 16 completions with six all purpose touchdowns. His one rushing touchdown came on a 25 yard scramble from the line of scrimmage. Senior receiver Caleb Schweigart finished the game with 108 yards and nine receptions to his name. Westside volunteer assistant coach Gavin Christiansen likes the outlook for the rest of the season.
“We’re looking great right now,” Christiansen said. “We came back after that bad loss ten times better.”
Westside, who now owns a 3-1 record and three game win streak, will return to action at Omaha Central, who owns an 0-4 record, on Friday, September 22, 2017.
