Last month, students in WTV (Westside Television) created short films to compete in the 7-7-7 high school film competition. Students split into 4 groups and created films in the categories of thriller, comedy, romance, and drama. Each group was assigned a theme, a color scheme, and a prop to incorporate into their film. 

“Sweet Love of Mime”

(Dan Vermillion, Andrew Overgaard, Spencer Schneiderman, Libby Bekins)

-In this comedic film, Sophomore Dan Vermillion plays a dedicated mime who struggles with his oath of silence. The mime meets a girl (played by Junior Maddy Stark) and is unable to communicate with her.  

Award- 3rd place

 

“Caught”

(Trent Hancock, Nolan Dondlinger, Morgan Wilson)

– This drama features 2 students (Junior Morgan Wilson and Sophomore Trent Hancock). The students are caught trying to hack into the schools security system by a passer-by (Freshman Nolan Dondlinger). The students are now Caught in a lie they can’t get out of.

 

“A Serial’s Cereal”

(Mitch Francis, Caleb Kirilov, Gabe Hinrichs)

In this thriller, a girl spells out a name in her cereal, revealing who she and her girlfriend will kill that day. The two struggle with the idea of killing people, and their relationship struggles as a result.

 

“The Other Guy”

(Peter Krenzer, Cedric Homan, Yousra Abdulrazig)

In this Drama, (Peter Krenzer) finds out his wife has an “other guy” who ends up being his best friend. This film highlights Peter’s adventure on finding out his wives infidelity.
