Westside hockey team brings in 15 consecutive wins
The Westside hockey team may not be the most well known sports team in the high school, but it is one of the most successful.
The team has won fifteen games in a row since their season started in late October. After winning their first five, the team lost once to Tri-City Storms but redeemed itself by defeating Tri-City in a later game.
Cameron Hickey of the Westside hockey team has high expectations for the remaining games in the hockey season.
“We have the tournament on March 14 and I have high hopes for it,” Hickey said. “We have a good offense and our defense has only let opposing teams score a collective 14 goals.”
The team has scored over 100 points in the season so far, but there are still some difficulties that are present within the team.
Despite Tri-City not being in the same league as the Westside hockey team, they do play against Westside and sometimes other teams due to a limited amount of hockey teams within their leagues.
“We have had two teammates suspended and Millard West and Tri-City are tough competitors,” Hickey said. “I still think we will do well in the tournament.”
