Westside Journalism Social Media Update

Westside Journalism is the collaborative team of the five Westside journalistic publications: Craze, Lance, Shield, Westside Wired and WTV. The social media team has decided to coordinate all five publications to effectively cover all events shared throughout the year and to create the most substantial and even viewing base.

Since student interaction through social media is important to our journalism department, Westside Journalism will combine all social media accounts into one account: Westside Wired. Following this account enables access to a complete view of current events affecting Westside and the district as a whole. Each publication will be represented by a separate hashtag on the Westside Wired account across four main social media platforms.

Twitter: (@westsidewired) our following base can access information on important events, scores and previews of stories or pictures that have been written by any publication will be highlighted. This is the central social media that unites our publications.

Snapchat: (westsidewired) will be used to show behind the scenes of what is going on during school, at journalism activities and even what teachers do in their classrooms.

Facebook: (Westside Wired) we will be using Facebook to connect with a wider audience, now targeting parents, staff, community members and more.

Instagram: (westsidewired) we will focus on the highlighting the best from each publication on a weekly basis.
