Weekend in Review
Baseball
The baseball team started their season with a double header on Saturday. They started off the day by beating the Lincoln Northeast Rockets 11-1 in five innings. In the second game, the Warriors defeated Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks 4-1. Mike Waldron had two RBIs and Mitch Hagan and Nate Hall also chipped in RBIs.
Soccer
The boys soccer team dropped their first game this season against the Skutt Skyhawks. Robert Wiseman had a goal taken off the scoreboard and the Warriors lost the game 1-0. The boys play Tuesday at Central at 7 p.m. The girls have their first game tonight at Benson at 4:30 p.m.
Track and Field
The Westside boys track and field team won the Nebraska Wesleyan Indoor meet this weekend. Both teams are in South Dakota competing today.
Poetry
Westside received first place at the “Louder than a Bomb” poetry slam competition at UNO. Congratulations to Lia Hagen, Peyton Wells, Ellie Bruckner, Sarah Sweeney and Zoe Caudell who competed in the competition.
DECA
