Weekend in Review

Basketball:

The girls basketball team won the state championship! The team won three games in a row to become the 2014/2015 state champions. Thursday night, the winning started when the Warriors defeated the Millard West Wildcats 55-40. The Warriors held the Wildcats to 8 points in the second and third quarters en route to the victory. Friday, the Warriors faced off against the No. 2 seed Lincoln Northeast. 21 second quarter points paved the way for another Warrior victory. Saturday was the big game. The girls played against the No. 8 seed and Cinderella story Norfolk Panthers. Jay Bridgeman lead the way to the Warrior victory with 16 points, and Quinn Weidemann and Jenn Poots chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively. The Warriors took home the 53-40 victory and the state title.

Show Choir

The Amazing Color Technicolor Show Choir competed in the Lewis Central Clash of the Titans invitational this weekend. The show choir took Grand Champion, Best Vocals, Best Choreography and Best Band. Jacob Thomas also took home best male soloist. ATSC leaves this Wednesday for FAME Orlando competition in Florida.

Debate

Seniors Eric McAtee and Teigen Swanson are going to nationals in Dallas! Needing to win a total of eight rounds Friday and Saturday to get to nationals, the duo went 1-1 Friday, March 6. The pair managed to go 7-0 Saturday, beating an undefeated team en route to punching their ticket to Dallas.
