Weekend in Review
Basketball
Boys: Thursday night the boys lost 58-42 against the Millard North Mustangs. The Warriors started the game on a 9-0 run, but they couldn’t put the Mustangs away. Saturday, the team won 58-30 against North Platte. Junior AJ Meeks led the team with 17 points.
Girls: The girls started off the weekend with a big win over Millard North. They won 61-52 and freshman Quinn Weidemann scored 28 points to lead the Warriors. The girls also finished the weekend strong with a 71-39 win against North Platte.
Show Choir
The Westside show choirs swept the Ralston competition this weekend. ATSC was the grand champion, SI placed second and Warrior Express took third. ATSC also won best choreography, vocals, band and costume, and Jacob Thomas was named best male soloist. SI won best female performer, Maddie Duggan, and best female soloist, Natalie Day.
DECA
DECA participated in the Metro DECA competition at Millard South this weekend. A multitude of participants were within the top eight of their events, and many took home top three honors. The Westside quiz bowl team also took home third place honors.
Swimming and Diving
Both the girls and boys swim teams took home first place in Scottsbluff this weekend. Also Mitch Schenkelberg, Austin St. Amant, Jonas Turman, and Aaram Thompson place third, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the diving competition.
Wrestling
Thursday, the Warriors lost to Bennington 48-24. We will be live streaming the meet Wednesday at Westside.
Robotics
Westside finished fourth in the Aurora Open competition. They also brought home the CREATE Foundation’s Sportsmanship Award.
