What to do after Winter Formal
Before 10 p.m., it’s all by the book. 2 p.m. get-ready. 4 p.m. Creighton vs. Villanova game. 6 p.m. pictures. 7 p.m. dinner, 8 p.m. dance and 8:30 p.m. Battle of the Bands. It’s after these that decisions become tricky. What exactly does one do after Winter Formal? Don’t fret. Wired is here for you with five exciting ideas on what to do after Winter Formal.
Dessert
Picture this: Your classy friend decides to pick a restaurant that specializes in fine Korean dining. While you did enjoy the cucumber water, the Jjaejangmyun noodles and Yukgaejang Soondubu weren’t exactly entrees of your choice. You decided to skip dinner and end up starving for the entirety of the dance. The answer to your problem is dessert. Schedule a second reservation at a place that serves a dinner and desert option. Some places that are open at 10 p.m. on a Sunday night include Old Chicago and a variety of bars.
***Note: Buffalo Wild Wings is not open to people under the age of 21 after 9.
Bowling
A classic after dance option, bowling provides both fun and competition for your entire group. Plus, with a big group, bowling can be a cost-friendly option. Thank your presidents for the late night bowling this Sunday, as bowling allies such as The V, are open later due to the holiday weekend.
Movie
After breaking a sweat on the dance floor, you and your group might be tired out. If throwing a 10-pound ball down a lane is not your forte, enter the relaxing idea of a movie. You can go out or stay in. If you choose to go out there are several great flicks showing in theater. For the chick flick lovers, there is Endless Love and The Awkward Moment (featuring none other than the beautiful Zac Efron). For the mixed group, movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street and The Monuments Men have been released in the past month under the genre of Drama/Comedy. And for the action lovers, movie options include RoboCop and Ride Along.
Party
Party like it’s 1999, or 2014. A fun way to top off your exciting Winter Formal night is to get together with your friends and “dance the night away.” Get out some active games, like Twister, or play Ping Pong. Throw on some loud music and dance! Other fun things to do at parties include playing Apples to Apples, popping open a bottle of Sparkling Cider and hang out with your friends.
Sleep
For the weak of heart, or those that get tired quickly, y might want to retire to bed after a long night of dancing. Make this an event and invite your best friends over for a sleepover. You could go to bed or spend a night gossiping, playing Call of Duty or painting nails.
