The psychedelic rock band Delicate Steve played a show at the Slowdown Sunday night and certainly left there mark. They started the show without any words, playing two songs before breaking the barrier between them and the crowd. Frontman Steve Marion said, in a sarcastic manner, the group was “divided” on the subject of when to talk and followed with letting the crowd know that they were migrating along with the birds.
That aside, they moved their set along with their instrumental euphoria and epic dance moves, while sneaking a few jokes in between songs. This was my third time seeing them perform, and it was by far the best. The guitar monitors were at the perfect volume and the band released the cleanest form of their solid rhythms.
Their second album, Positive Force, was released last year and expanded on their initial melodic guitar combinations. Delicate Steve will surely be an upcoming sensation and I can’t wait to see how far they go with what they bring to the table next.
If you haven’t already, make sure to check out this album along with their first, Wondervisions. Their style and genre is truly unexplainable and unlike anything else. You’ll have to hear it for yourself and make sure not to miss their next migration to the Omaha area.
