This year’s spring theater production will be coming up in February. February 13, 14, and 15 the theater department will be putting on The Outsiders. Set in the 1960’s, the play tells the story of two rival groups in Chicago. The main character, Ponyboy, played by sophomore Connor O’Doherty, narrates the play as he recalls different events. The accidental murder of a rival group member causes Ponyboy and his friend Johnny, played by Jessica Hrbek, to hide and avoid being killed.
“Towards the end of the play, the groups decide to have a turf war to decide who gains control of the area,” said stage manager Lauren Akers.
This production will be theater instructor Jeremy Stoll’s second play at the high school, for which he said his expectations are high.
“We will have a new system that will allow us to have set changes during the play, and for the first time Audrey Leclou will be calling the play,” said Stoll.
Along with this, the actors and production team are still shifting between working with the previous theater instructor, Terry Fischer.
“The group and I are still getting our bearings and figuring out how to work together,” said Stoll.
Tickets for the play will be available in the warrior walkway the week of the play.
