On Tuesday, April 10 juniors took the American College Testing (ACT) test while the rest of students had the day off. Due to the placement of Westside’s spring break, the juniors took the ACT test online rather than the traditional pencil and paper test.

While some students thought the test went well, most faced many technological difficulties. Because of this, the juniors will retake the ACT this coming Tuesday, April 24. The rest of students will, again, have the day off.

Principal Jay Opperman said at the assembly on Tuesday, April 17 that Westside wants to provide students with the chance to take the ACT, and the test taken last Tuesday wasn’t a good testing environment for students.

Students and staff replied to their feelings about having to take the test again.
