As the weather warms up and spring settles in, it’s time for boys’ soccer to take the field. With the season officially kicking off, teams are gearing up for another exciting year of fast-paced action, intense competition, and the memorable moments they will endure. This spring, the Warriors are looking to sharpen their skills, build an awesome team chemistry and battle their way to the NSAA State Soccer tournament.
As the first week of practice kicks off, the energy is high for the boys team. Senior Evan From shared his excitement about the upcoming season.
“I feel great heading into this season,” From said. “The team looks good going into the first week of practice and all of the preseason work is going to pay off. We have a very strong roster with lots of depth along with a great coaching staff so the expectations for this season are high.”
Like all great teams, the Warriors have set many great goals for themselves this year to make sure they have the most successful season possible. This starts by showing up to practice on day one 100% locked in.
“We have a few different goals for this season,” From said. “The first is to go undefeated at home. We did this last year and we want to do the same this year. Another goal is for us to host every round in districts,” From said. “We want to be one of the top seeds going into districts and the state tournament. And our ultimate goal is to raise the state championship trophy at the end of the season,”
This year, the boys team is feeling confident about what they can achieve. Between the talent, teamwork and dedication the team has to the sport, the future is bright for the soccer team.
“The team this year has many strengths that will lead to our success this season,” From said.
“The first is the cohesiveness that we already have built. Our team has good chemistry which gives us an advantage over other teams in the state. Another strength of ours is our team’s dedication. All of our guys are locked in and no other teams prepare for games like we do. Finally, we have a talented roster with enough depth to stay competitive even multiple rotations deep. We have young talent too so westside soccer has a bright future.”.
