Senior Lakelyn Joslin has committed to Lake Erie College to play lacrosse and basketball. Joslin played basketball and lacrosse in all four years of her high school career.
Joslin will be a long ways away from home with Lake Erie College being 12 hours away from Omaha.
Joslin played four years of varsity lacrosse and two years of varsity basketball, making an impact on all the teams she was a part of.
On the lacrosse field Joslin led the team in shot percentage last season, and on the basketball court she’s shooting a respectable 37% from the field.
There were other schools that recruited Joslin, but her family and coaches made a life changing decision less stressful.
“They helped me look through financials, they helped me really feel out what was the best place for me,” Joslin said. “What felt right was Lake Erie.”
What set Lake Erie College apart from the other schools that recruited her was the campus.
“The campus is just really beautiful, and they also have an equestrian center where they have horses,” she said.
Joslin adds her name to a short list of athletes to come out of Westside and play two sports in college.
“I feel like it’s gonna be a great opportunity for me to really just be the best at both sports collegiately,” she said.
