Over the past few weeks wrestlers, Regan Rosseter, Piper Zatechka and Zoey Barber all hit their 100 career wins mark. They all managed to hit their achievements within one week of the previous one. This is just one of the many accomplishments that has shown the dominance they displayed all season.
Head Coach Bob Mulligan spoke about the three hitting their 100th win.
“It was pretty amazing,” Mulligan said, “100 wins is an amazing accomplishment and to have three athletes in the same year is unbelievable.”
Senior Regan Rosseter talked about what it meant to her to be the first one in westside history to achieve 100 career wins
“It felt very special being the first girl to hit that milestone,” Rosseter said.
Mulligan also talked about what it’s like to have Rosseter, Zatechka, and Barber in the room as leaders.
“It’s been a pleasure to watch those 3 grow. The sky’s the limit for them,” Mulligan said. “Those three are the best leaders, the team strives because of what those 3 bring to our room everyday.”
Junior Piper Zatechka spoke about what it meant when she hit her 100th career win the week after Rosseter.
“It’s definitely really cool, I mean since freshman year every record that was broken by Regan, Bob would tweet out 40 minutes later that Piper hit that record too,” Zatechka said. “I feel like it just goes hand in hand that Regan hit 100 hundred wins and I hit right after her, it’s very fitting of how the past three years have been”.
Junior Zoey Barber also spoke about what it meant to her after hitting that 100 career win mark.
“It feels good getting my hundredth career win but I definitely want to get more than that,” Barber said. “It felt good but I feel like I could’ve done it way faster.”
Approaching the District tournament, Mulligan spoke about the team’s ideology known as peaking season.
“Peaking season is really just the culmination of everything we’ve done all year,” Mulligan said. “ It’s them stepping up even another notch and showing why they are three of, if not the three best wrestlers in the whole state.”
