Five softball girls will be swinging into a new chapter.
Lauren Heser
After 10 years of playing softball and being a warrior for four, Lauren Heser is ready to begin the next base. “Westside has definitely taught me to be a leader,” Heser said. Heser being a senior she has seen all kinds of girls come and go, stay and finish. “The bonds are super strong because you are with the girls everyday for two months straight, friendships that will last a lifetime,” Heser said. Heser has not committed to a college but is hoping to attend University of Nebraska at Kearney or Wayne State College of Nebraska.
Chloe Moore
After 11 years of playing softball and being a Warrior for four, Chloe Moore is ready to swing into a new world. “I’ve learned a lot from different coaches and teammates over the years,” Moore said. Moore has seen the many coaches and many teammates go over the years but she will continue to keep what they have taught her in her next step. “ Westside has taught me to try harder and improve myself,” Moore said. Moore has not committed to a college but is hoping to attend somewhere in Arizona or Colorado.
Kaidence Dumas
After following in her dad’s footsteps, Kaidence Dumas is ready for the next step. “ I get a lot of new opportunities being a warrior,” Dumas said. Being on a high school team, students travel a lot to other schools that they wouldn’t see playing outside of school. “The girls on the softball team are my best friends,” Dumas said. The Warrior girls have built a bond and Dumas is hoping to keep those bonds with her in her next steps. She has not committed to a college but is hoping to attend UCLA.
Chloe Haberman
After seven years of playing softball and being a warrior for four, Chloe Haberman is ready to move forward. “Westside has impacted my life a lot because I had an injury about two years ago and the whole time they just still kept me with the girls and I was still around all the time so it made it easier for me to recover knowing that I had them,” Haberman said. Being able to know you have people by your side during a recovery makes it a lot easier to keep pushing. “You make a lot of friends along the way, teammates that have already graduated or the freshman that just came in, you just get to know so many people,” Haberman said. Haberman is hoping to keep all her teammates along the years close to her heart. She has not committed to a college, but is hoping to attend Arizona State University.
