Photo Gallery: Nebraska Shakespeare performs for Westside literature students

September 29, 2017

Nebraska Shakespeare On Tour travels to a number of different schools during the months of September and October to introduce Shakespeare’s work to students and communities. A creative team of five members and a cast of seven re-created “Romeo and Juliet” and gave it a modern twist. The cast and creative team traveled to Westside’s auditorium on Thursday to perform for english and literature students during mods 10/11 and 12.

Their vision, stated on the Nebraska Shakespeare website, is “to find ways to make Shakespeare a part of our society beyond the literature and drama classrooms and, for this reason, we provide opportunities for continued interaction and learning about the bard that are both free and accessible to a diverse audience. We are focused on delivering experiences that are true to the text and intent of Shakespeare while creatively and dynamically relevant to contemporary life.”
