Photo Gallery/RECAP: Warriors take down eagles in impressive win

September 22, 2017

Westside continued their winning streak tonight, improving to 4-1 with a 63-7 victory at Omaha Central. The Warriors came out swinging when, on the first play of the game, senior running back Jaden Kohls returned the kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. Central drove down the field for a touchdown on the next drive, but from then on it was all Westside. The Warriors scored a touchdown on every one of their drives in the first half, scoring 49 points despite only having possession for a little over ten minutes. The game slowed down in the second half, but Westside kept working on offense as they added two more touchdowns for a total of nine on the night. The defense made some impressive stops as well, keeping the Eagles from scoring after their first drive. All in all five different Westside backs scored: Kohls, Alex Nielsen, Matthew Gurnett, Ethan Shepherd and Sam Parsonage. The Warriors will face their biggest test of the season when No. 1 Burke comes to Phelps Field on Thursday night.
